Vintage Cloth in this Rag Rug SOLD

This rug was woven with a durable yellow cotton string warp, which united the  cloth strips together in a warm and generous fashion. There is red, blue,  green and yellow in the cotton cloth strips. There were a few vintage patterned sheets used,  I find the combinations very satisfying. I am always interested in how far each different cloth will go, the addition of a pattern introduces design challenges. The picture of the little strip of cloth shows you how much I had left of that cloth at the end of all the pattern repeats. It was a cliff hanger, that one! Obviously this piece is one of a kind. Hand knotted string fringes extend the life of the rug.  Size 23/50 inches, 59/127 cm including fringes. Machine washable in cold water, line or rack dry.
